Rachael is a doctoral researcher currently undertaking a practice-led investigation into the Liminal Thresholds of the Ocean.

Rachael uses her practice, as an experimental filmmaker, photographer and gatherer of marine scientific data to delve into the physical and metaphorical realms of the horizon. Working with the materiality of sea/ocean water, emerging and obsolescent technologies to reveal hidden realms of our visible world. Her work explores phenomenology in relation to site, the temporal, alchemical properties of analogue film as well as the immediacy of the virtual, scientific and digital data technology.
